Kit Building - 68ft Bulkhead Stake Flatcars

Check castings and clean up any signs of flash or feeds

Using tweezers glue the ladder rungs and handrail in the slots on the bulkheads
Glue the plain strips on the scribed lines near the center of the deck

To file the base of the stakes castings, I placed them in a smooth jaw vise as shown, and gently filed with a fine file. These castings are delicate, so need careful handling until glued in place. (An extra casting is supplied in case of breakage)
Stake castings are glued on the scribed lines, 4 each side of the center strips

The step can easily be snapped off the sprue, and glued under the corners of the frame

Glue the bulkheads to the deck. Drill a hole in the brake stand and fit the brakewheel, then glue the stand as shown on one end of the car

The deck can be drilled to enable the coupler to be screwed in place. Use the coupler pocket to locate the hole position. After painting and decaling for your chosen scheme, fit the trucks and couplers
